CROSS-COUNTRY: 555 kilometers of marked and groomed trails in Hol municipality. Additionally, the DNT (Norwegian Trekking Association) maintains approx. 160 kilometers of marked trails, some of which are partially groomed. A 5 km floodlit trail is located by Geilohallen. A trail map (scale 1:25,000) shows all paths and tracks, with trails color-coded by difficulty level. The grooming machines are equipped with GPS transmitters showing their real-time location and how recently the trails in the area were prepared; see today’s updated trail reports.

The trails around Ustedalsfjorden are perfect for families with children, featuring informational signage along the way about the local nature and culture. Summit trips to Hallingskarvet will satisfy the demands of more experienced and endurance-oriented skiers. The trail map shows marked routes and where dining facilities are located along the way. Free trail maps are available at the Tourist Information office.
